Abstract/Summary:
Based on the distribution map of Yueqing urban green space retrieved from a QuickBird image of 2009, with the support of GIS and RS technology and with fixed appropriate grain, the paper aims at systematically analyzing the landscape pattern and the structure of green space of Yueqing city by applying the principles and methods of landscape ecology. Results shows that the landscape structure of the green space is not resonable:park greens is the dominant type and road greens and residence greens is obviously less; The SHDI of whole greens is relatively low which means the greens type is monotonous. Results also reveales that its landscape is relatively fragile in which new districts have higher PD than the old ones; The FRAC_MN of this area is low and the patch shape is regular, artificial, lacking natural shapes. Further more, the density of corridor is low and the layout of park greens is uneve which can not satisfies the life of local residents.Besides, applying the methods of Gradient Analysis and Landscape Index, this paper analyzes the horizontal gradient of the landscape at different extents. As a result, 400* 600m is determined as the apporiate extent, and with this value, research is being carryied out to reveal the space characteristic in extent as well as the landscape structure of the urban green space in Yueqing. The research tells us that in the view of type, different type of greens shows obvious space characteristic along belt gradients structure; In the downtown, park greens is the dominant type, and in the suburbs, residence greens and affiliated greens take more space. As a whole, the urban greens is fragile and the shape of greens patch is relatively smooth. In the view of landscape. different landscape indexs present otherness along belt gradients; LSI, SHDI and AI have distinct gradient features while PD is unconspicuous. Finally, some suggestion is proposed for greens construction to optimize greens system as a whole for Yueqing City. The corresponding research results can be referred for greens construction and landscape pattern analysis in small and medium-sized cities.
