Abstract: In order to investigate different phenomenon of the different grain traits in spikelet position and influence on their offspring of different position seed . The experiment with two cultivars of Meisheng 0308 and Meisheng 5 was conducted from 2007 to 2009,and the grain was arrayed and bagged ordinally ,from the first base to top spikelet in spikelet, from base to top position according to different every spikelet ,30 grains of each grain position was selected,whose grain length, grain width, grain thickness , grain weight and grain protein content were determined. Then seeds were selected from each position grain, whose situation of sprouting and tillering, the physical properties of the flag leaf and production capacity and leaf area in different periods were studied more systematically ,The findings were as follows:1.In the same grain position of different spikelet position, grain weight, grain length, grain width, grain thickness,protein content and awn length with different spikelet positions showed parabolic changes, In the same spikelet grain of different grain position, the grain weight, protein content and awn length in different spikelet positions significantly varied with the grain number of spikele,for 2 grain-set spikelet,in the base, the two varieties showed those in 2nd position>those in 1s t position, but in the top those in 1st position>those in 2ndposition.; for 3 grain-set spikelet ,those in 2nd position>those in 1st position > those in 3rd position. in general,the relationship between grain weight and grain length, grain width, grain thickness, grain protein content and awn length was significant positive correlation with two cultivars of Meisheng 0308 and Meisheng 5, Correlation coefficient was 0.624-0.813,0.487-0.676,0.431-0.798,0.748-0.864 and 0.394-0.261,respectively.2. From a general point of view,the relationship between grain weight and seedling ratio,the number of tillering,the leaf area in mid-prophase,plant height during heading stage,photosynthetic rate and proline content of the flag leaf and the biomass was significant positive correlation with two cultivars ,respectively.3. Because the larger seeds had higher vigor and richer nutritional advantage, after the seed germinate and sprout, robust seedling potential had always maintained, which lay the foundation for realization of high and stable yield through sowing bigger seeds.therefore, in the process of wheat cultivation,provided references for seed orientation selection,the larger seeds should be chosen to sow.
