Taking the Japanese special stock species Katakuruma as the stock and the native species Sipingtou, Zhudachang and Xinjiao-3 as the scion. Physiological index and yield of the grafted plants are tested after being planted. The sickness index and physiology index are tested after inoculating Phytophthora capsici Leon. The tolerance of grafted peppers to Phytophthora capsici is analysed to provide a better stock species for peppers and a theory basis for improving the resistance ability to Phytophthora capsici.1.Tube-graft is an economic and efficient method, which can improve the survival rate and save operation time. The root-grafted Sipingtou grows fastest in all three root-grafted plants, and then root-grafted Zhudachang and root-grafted Xinjiao-3. The grafted plants which increases height and diameter fastest is aslo Sipingtou, and than grafted Xinjiao-3 and grafted Zhudachang.2.There has significant differences between grafted Sipingtou and root-grafted Sipingtou in the content of soluble sugar. For Xinjiao-3 and Zhudachang, there has no significant differences between grafted and root-grafted plants. The soluble sugar content is higher in grafted Xinjiao-3 than root-grafted. There has no differences between grafted and root-grafted plants in the content of soluble protein.3.The root-grafted Sipingtou has better photosynthesis ability than grafted Sipingtou. Grafted Xinjiao-3 represents better in all indexes that analyzed, especially in photosynthesis index. And also has a significant advantage in cell CO2 concentration. There is no differences in photosynthesis ability between grafted and root-grafted Zhudachangs.4.After inoculating Phytophthora capsici, the result shows that the enzyme activity of POD and SOD changes greater in seedling plants than in root-grafted plants and plants that inoculated with distilled water. The MDA content increases first and then decreases. The Pro content increases with the invade time extending, and the raise trend expresses more evident in root-grafted plants than in the CK and grafted plants.5.Taking the Katakuruma as the stock, the resistance ability of grafted plants which used tube-graft method is studied. It indicates that the grafted plants had strong resistance while all the seedlings were attacked. The grafted plants, which used Sipingtou, Xinjiao-3 and Zhudachang as the scion, had a significant better resistance ability than the root-grafted plants. The results proved that the stock species Katakuruma had strong resistance and can be used as a good pepper stock for production.
