Objective To explore the influence of anti-tumor effect of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate combined with Oxaliplatin on nude mice models of human gastric carcinoma(HGC).Methods Establish subcutaneous xenotransplanted tumor models of human gastric carcinoma(HGC) in nude mice, which were randomly assigned to six groups, high-,medium-,and low-dose magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate with oxaliplatin groups, oxaliplatin group and glucose group. All the drugs were injected through cauda vein for 14 days. The mice were sacrificed 24 hours after the last injection and tissue specimens were obtained.Weights and volumes of the tumors were detected. Tumor inhibition rate was calculated, blood routine and liver functions were checked. Results The anti-tumor rates of high-, medium-, and low-dose magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate with oxaliplatin groups and oxaliplatin group were all significantly higher than the glucose control group. The anti-tumor rates of high-,medium-,and low-dose magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate with oxaliplatin groups were higher than that of oxaliplatin group, which showed a dose dependent manner. No significant impairment of liver functions was noted in the groups except oxaliplatin group. Conclusion Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate probably increased the anti-tumor effect of Oxaliplatin, and appeared an obvious protection of liver function.
