Objective:To investigate the effect of different feeding practices on neonate HCMV morbidity and early growth and development, and provide the basis and guidance for neonate feeding practice of HCMV seropositive mother.Methods:Full-term neonates(83 cases) whose maternal HCMV-Ig M and breast milk HCMV-DNA positive were selected in Qingzhou People’s Hospital from Oct. 2012 to Oct.2014. According to the mother’s self-selected feeding practices(breast feeding or artificial feeding), those neonates were divided into breast feeding group(45 cases) and artificial feeding group(38 cases) after the prior consent of the neonatal patients.Meanwhile 60 cases of full-term neonates whose maternal HCMV-Ig M negative were selected and fed in breast feeding as the control group. Their early morning urinary(1ml)were collected every week(in 1d, 7d, 14 d, 21 d and 28d) after their birth. The method of fluorescent quantitative PCR was adopted to test the positive rate of HCMV. Fasting blood samples were collected for testing the routine liver function at 28 th day. During the4 weeks after their birth, anthropometric indexes(height, weight, head circumference and NBNA) were recorded and compared. The relationship between neonatal HCMV infection with the feeding practices and the influence of HCMV infection on physical development was analyzed through statistical methods.Results:1. The results of fluorescent quantitative PCR showed that there was no statistical significance in rate of HCMV positive between breast feeding group with artificial feeding group at 1th, 7th, 14 th and 21 th day(P>0.05).The HCMV positive rate was24.44% in breast feeding group, 7.89% in artificial feeding group and 1.67% in control group, there have significant statistical differences between the three groups.2. The results of anthropometric indexes, the routine liver function, head circumference and NBNA showed that there was no statistical significance in three groups(breast feeding group, artificial feeding group and control group).Conclusion1. The HCMV positive rate of the maternal HCMV seropositive neonates was higher with breast feeding than artificial feeding, and when breast feeding time was prolonged, the HCMV infection rate of maternal HCMV seropositive neonates was increased accordingly.2. Breastfeeding for maternal HCMV seropositive neonates does not obvious affect the liver function and anthropometric indexes. The healthy neonates of maternal HCMV seropositive could adopt the breast feeding under the supervision of liver function and anthropometric indexes.
