Sugar beet hybrid M14 (2n=18+1=19) is apomictic monosomic addition line which contains some chromosomes of Beta corolliflora Zoss. It has sexual and apomictic characteristics. In this work, floral organ proteins were extracted from the hybrid and cultivated beet before 24 h, after 1 and 12 h of anthesis. Then, two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (IEF/SDS-PAGE) was applied to separate and compare protein profiles between the hybrid and cultivar. With the help of software ImageMasterTM 2D Platinum 7.0, we found that six protein spots were unique in hybrid M14 but two protein spots missed. Some protein spots showed up-regulated or down-regulated expression during floral organ development. Our results provide the evidence of differential expression of proteins for further explaining chromosome variations of progenies in the hybrid M14. |
