A total of six varieties and lines of nonglutinous rice which was widely used in the Jilin Province, existing difference in date of growth, agricultural character of plant and character of quality of rice. with great genetic diversity was used selectively as parents to make complete diallel crossing in accordance with the Griffing method in order to study the inherence of yield and yield characters of nonglutinous rice. 36 combinations were made in 2003, and planted at experimental plot of Jilin Agricultural University in 2004. Quantitative analysis of eight yield characters (including yield) in nonglutinous rice was studied as follows: hcterosis analysis, regression and correlation and path analysis between parents and offspring, analysis of the general combining ability and the specific combining ability, regression and correlation of analysis between different type of combining ability and expression of F1 hybrid, hcritability analysis of yield and yield characters. According to above analysis parents and societies were evaluated as follow:(1) Heterosis: The result indicated that hetcrosis of eight characters existed in F1 hybrids and the number of series in positive average heterosis was 19 societies, the range average of heterosis was 0.63 - 49.9%. There were 14 societies which had exceeding parent heterosis with range of 1.34 — 45.02%, and there was also 14 combinations which had contrasting heterosis with range of 1.54— 55.11% among 30 societies. It showed that there was a huge heterosis existed in hybrids of nonglutinous rice.(2) Analysis of correlation: The result of the Analysis of correlation indicated that the correlation of genotype and phenotype between yield and yield characters was all very significance except the height of plant, it expressed that the variation caused by genotype, and offer basis of theory for choice of correlation in high yield breeding.(3) Path analysis: The contribution of characters to yield was different, the contribution from strong to weak was ears of plant>grains of ear >ripening rate >1000 mix grain weight. Heritable contribution of character was ripening rate > cars of plant> 1000 mix grain weight> grains of ear(4) General combing ability. The result of the general combining ability analysis indicated that the variation caused among cross combination in eight traits was caused by additive effect and the nonadditive effect. The variety of Nong da 7, Chao chan 2 and Tong 35 was superior to other varieties in general combining ability. These three varieties can be used as good parent for cross breeding of nonglutonous rice.(5) Specific combining ability. The result of specific combining ability analysis showed that specific combining ability of 60% combinations was positive, the nice societies were Nong da 7×Chao chan 2, Chao chan 2×Tong 35, Chao chan 2×Zhu pei 11 with higher and positive specific combining ability.(6) Effect of reciprocal cross: Among the effect of reciprocal cross 9 combinations were positive value. It indicated that there was effect of reciprocal cross in the societies and cytoplasmic inheritance existed.(7) Analysis of total combining ability: The correlation of specific combining ability and total combining ability with yield expression of F1 hybrids was very significance and the two combining ability of eight characters was consistent with yield expression of Fl hybrids, but specific combining...
