Study On Oriental Migratory Locust Habitat Assessing Information System

Oriental migratory locust (Locusta migratoria manilensis Meyen) is the kind of locust which has very often brought the harmful effects to many regions in China. More than 800 locust plagues have been recorded in Chinese historical documents, in which most of the plagues were caused by oriental migratory locust. In recent years, a tendency of more and more serious locust plague has emerged due to the climatic change and human activities.There are close relationships between locust occurrence and outbreak and their habitas. The key of efficiently control of locust plague is studying on locust habitats, and the assessment of locust habitats has became an important foundamental task.This paper deals with order the relations between occurrence/outbreack of oriental migratory locust and influencing indexes, based on the field investigation data and the local plant protection station's advice, in the study area Huanghua city of Hebei province. The oriental migratory locust habitat assessing system is istablished through a series processes such as analysis of relations between the influencing indexes and occurrence of oriental migratory locust. Every index is divided into four grades according to the specific criterion, and its weight is drawn by AHP method. The oriental migratory locust habitat assessing system includes land use, vegetation cover density, soil salt content, soil type, texture of surface soil, soil moisture content, vegetation predominant species.Taking oriental migratory locust habitat assessing system as the core, this paper carried on the complete design to the total structure, data process, database, main function...etc. of the oriental migratory locust habitat assessing information system. With OOP idea, based on .NET framework and ArcGIS Engine, the oriental migratory locust habitat assessing information system is istablished.The occurrence possibility of oriental migratory locust is assessed with the oriental migratory locust habitat assessing information system.
