In order to solve the problem that zoydiagrass matrella has a long scorch period in winter, the effect of mowed height, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer on the green period of warm-season turfgrass(zoydiagrass matrella) was studied in Fuzhou .The three factor split-split-plot design was employed to study the effect of different treatments with different levels of phosphorus, potassium under different mowed heights on the activities of protective enzymes including superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT),permeability of plasma membrane (PMP),contents of malondialdehyde (MDA), chlorophyll(Chl), carotenoids, ascorbic acid(AsA), proline(Pro), soluble protein(SP), soluble sucrose(SS), as well as N, P and K in the leaves of zoydiagrass matrella. The main result obtained from this experiment indicated that: the activities of SOD , POD , CAT protective enzyme were enhanced under the reasonable application rates of phosphorus, potassium and mowed hight, this led to obviously decreased contents of free radicals, coupling with the decreased MDA content,so the peroxidation of membrane lipid was alleviated, consequently cell membrane was more steady. It was also found that the reasonable mowed height and application rates of phosphorus, potassium were closely related to accumulation of cold-resistant substances(soluble sugar, proline and soluble protein).Which in turn promoted N, P, K nutriment uptake ,and provided important substance basis for zoysiagrass matralla growth in winter season. Finally, the result of the present study demonstrated that the best procedure of mowed height and fertilization was C2P3K2(mowed height: 5cm, P2O5: 80kg/hm2, K2O: 80kg/hm2), which could significantly increase cold-resistance and prolong the turf green period.By which it is expected to provide some reference for enhancing turf quality during cold winter in Fujian southeast China.
