The research is funded by the national natural science fund project titled Information Extraction of SPOT Satellite Remote Sensing Image and Dynamic Monitoring of Land Use and Land Cover (sanction number: 40371053) .There have been many quantity models of soil erosion with acceptable accuracy at present. But the operation of these models needs a lot of parameters which are usually difficult to obtain. This leads the difficulties of soil erosion dynamic monitoring. Some new technologies, such as, Remote Sensing and GIS, remedy the disadvantage of methods of soil erosion, then they are becoming the new direction of vegetation and soil erosion dynamic monitoring. This paper uses the method of calculating vegetation index atmospheric correction to monitor the dynamic changes of vegetation and soil erosion. The outline of this paper is as follows: First, establishing the relation of the vegetation coverage and vegetation index of the research region. Secondly, using unsupervised classification method to calculat the mean vegetation coverage of remote sensing images each year from research region. Thirdly, calculating mean vegetation index of research region according to the established relation of vegetation index and vegetation coverage, then calculating the atmospheric influence value of each bands according to atmospheric influence coefficients and attain atmospheric correction. At last the dynamic changes of vegetation and soil erosions of the research region can be monitored.
