Abstract/Summary:
The effect of the extraneous GRF gene plasmid injection and the coordinate effect of GRF gene plasmid and SS gene vaccine on the carcass and meat quality of pink veal were studied in this thesis. The correlation between the different part of carcass veal yield and the carcass body measurement, the predictive quations of different kinds carcass veal yield were also studied.The results of the extraneous GRF gene plasmid injection with different dose show that the extraneous GRF gene plasmid injection could increase the veal-producing yield significantly, and especially the 6 mg was the best. The carcass veal yield, the eye muscle area, the high-grade veal yield and the mediate-grade veal yield were respectively improved 24.09%, 30.81%, 23.07% and 27.33% compared to the control. The result of the dressing percentage, carcass cutability percentage, viscus percentage and carcass evaluation show that GRF gene plasmid injection did not affect the carcass composition, veal quality (pH, veal color and veal tenderness) and viscus weight. The muscle fibre diameter showed significantly different. The GRF gene plasmid residual was not found in the heart, liver and kidney of the slaughted calf.The results of the extraneous GRF gene plasmid and SS gene vaccine injection show that they had a tendency to increase the veal-producing yield, but the effects were not significantly. From the result of the dressing percentage, carcass cutability percentage, viscus percentage and carcass evaluate, we can conclude that the coordinate effect of GRF gene plasmid and SS gene vaccine did not affect the carcass composition, veal quality (pH, veal color and veal tenderness) and visus weight. The muscle fibre diameter was not influenced significantly, however,the muscle fibre density was influenced significantly by the the extraneous GRF gene plasmid and SS gene vaccine injection .The GRF gene plasmid residual was not found in the heart, liver and kidney of the slaughted calf.The correlations between the veal yield of different parts and the carcass body measurement(x1: the length of carcass, x2: the depth of carcass, x3: the lean thickness of leg, x4: the lean thickness of loin) had exceeded the mediate positive correlation.The regression equations were:The carcass veal yield regression equation was:y=y=-143.96+1.55x1+0.55x2+5.15x3+1.01x4(p<0.01)The high-grade veal yield regression equation was:y=-40.82+0.43x1+0.17x2+0.23x3+1.59x4 (p<0.01)The mediate-grade veal yield regression equation was:y=-65.49+0.73x1+0.34x2+0.46x3+1.248x4 (p<0.01)The paper results showed that GRF gene plasmid could increase the veal carcass yield, but did not influence carcass composition, veal safety and quality.
