The host plant selectivity of South American leaf miner, Liriomyza huidobrensis on different vegetable varieties was tested in the liboratory-conducted, using choice and no-choice tests. The results showed that the resistant of various vegetables were significant difference."Zhongxingdidou","Tenenwuhao","Wandou"and"Tonghao"were the susceptible varieties,"Jiafenshiwuhao","Meiwei"and"Zhongganshiyihao"etc. were the resistant varieties, and others were the middle varieties. To investigate the host plant selection mechanism, the quantity of leaf hair, nutrition composition and secondary substance were determined, the results showed that the quantity of leaf hair, the content of total chlorophyll, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, soluble sugar, soluble protein, tannic acid and flavone of every variety were significant difference each other. Correlative analysis showed that soluble sugar content was positively correlated with selectivity of L. huidobrensis, tannic acid and flavone contents were negatively correlated with selectivity of leaf miner, total chlorophyll, soluble protein contents and the quantity of leaf hair were uncorrelated. The result of Y-tube olfactory-meter test showed that the number of L. huidobrensis recorded in the area linked to the arm with the odor of"Xingjizilong"and"Zhongganshiyihao"differed significantly from that of the control (p<0.05). There was no significant difference between other varieties and control in the number of the leaf miner.
