| This paper studied the effects of extract of ginkgo biloba (EGB) on productive function, carcass characteristics, meat quality, blood lipid, immune function and anti-oxygenation of the broilers through a series of experiments which utilized single-factor experiment, adopting 180 female ROSS 308 broilers of one-day old. They were divided into 6 treatments randomly and each one had 3 duplications. 10 broilers which were bred 28 days consisted of each duplication. Group I as the untreatment group was bred by corn-soybean basal diet, while other groups (IK III IV V VI) were bred by basal diet contained 0.03% 0.06% 0.12% 0.249 0.48% EGB respectively. After breeding period, productive function, blood biochemical parameters, carcass characteristics, meat quality etc. were determined and analyzed statistically. The results were the following ones:1. EGB could improve productive performance of broilers. Feed contained 0.06% EGB increased the average daily gain and feed conversion ration. II group compared to the untreatment, the average daily gain, and the average weight increased 7.82% (P<0.05) and 7.38% (P>0.05) feed conversion ration decreased 12. 50% (P<0.01) respectively when the experiment ended.2. EGB could improve carcass characteristics to some extent. On the leg meat rate V and VI treatments increased 9.28% (P<0.05) and 10.70% (P<0.05) respectively compared to the untreatment while abdomen fat rate decreased 13.21 %(P<0.05) and 14.15% (P<0.05) . On the muscle pectoralis rate, VI treatment increased most, up to 6.65% (P<0.05) .3. EGB could improve meat qualification of broilers partly. For treatments, chest muscle's keeping water power, color, marble pattern and pH value were better than the untreatment. The content of breast protein from treatments were all more than the untreatment. Among treatments, V and VI were obviously different from the untreatment (P<0.05) while they increased 20.21%, 13.37%. The content of breast fat reduced on different levels. IV treatment was obviously different from the untreatment and V, VI were extremely different from the untreatment. However, 0.12% could significantly improve the meat qualification.4. EGB could improve immunity function. EGB could increase the weight of immune organ III treatment increaed most. Thymus, bursal and spleen increased 24.70% (P<0.05), 42.95% (P<0.05) and 39.29% (P<0.05) respectively. EGB could increase the content of serum IgA, IgG. IIIand IV treatments had obvious differences from the untreatment. IgA increased 21.54% (P<0.05), 30.08% (P<0.05) while IgG increased 20.04% (P<0.05), 24.74% (P<0.05). So IV treatment increased most.5. EGB could reduce the content of blood lipid 0.03%~0.24% addition could make totalcholesterol of serum decreased clearly, and III treatment dropped most, 25.75% (P<0.05) less than the untreatment. For treatments, serum triglyceride decreased to some extent. Ill treatment dropped most, 61.36% (P<0.05) less than the untreatment. However, the content of serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol increased, and IV treatment raised most, 61.36% (P<0.05) more than the untreatment. The content of low-density lipoprotein cholestero decreased, and IV treatment reduced most, 32.91% (P<0.05) less than the untreatment.6. EGB could improve anti-oxidation of broilers. For treatments, the content of serum MDA was all less than the untreatment. rv treatment dropped most, to 40.92% (P<0.01). The activities of SOD from treatments were all improved, IV treatment increased most, to 19.07% (P<0.05). |
