| The community biomass is an important index on evaluating productivity and productivity potential of the forest community and also is quantitative scale in researching bio-community productive structure and function of ecology system . The natural conifer forest dominated by Larix principis-rupprechtii situate in Pang Quangou National Nature Reserve of Shanxi Province. In this paper we study the community biomass, biomass distribution, productivity and productive structure in selected four sample plots situating in different altitude and slope direction, using the method of layered harvest . The result show community biomasses in sample No.1-No.4 are 233.78t · hm~-2, 101.921 · hm~-2,184.49t · hm~-2 and 193.76t · hm~-2 respectively. Arbor layer is principal part of community biomass; it is 91% in brush forest and 99% in sedge forest. Net productivity of arbor layer biomass has a relatively high level ranging from 4.66-5.67thm~-2a~-1 . Based on the formula W=a(D~2H)~b, we analyses the relationship between trunks, branches, leaves, roots and total biomass, research arbor layer productive structure on upper and below ground parts and degressive process of light within the community file. Based on the relationship between biomass and diameter in 1.3m, tree high and wood volume, we screen out the most applied formulae, and establish single and binary operation Standings wood weight form. These will be supply a simple and easy application method in biomass investigation of the natural conifer forest dominated by Larix principis-rupprechtii . Our research will be supply scientific theory theory and practical guidance in evaluating Larix principis-rupprechtii biomass, exploit its potential, exiting its ecological efficiency, constituting proper manage policy.
