Study On The Inheritance Of Fruit Characters In 'Kuerlexiangli'Pear

Using 10 cross combinations and 8 backcross combinations with 'Kuerlexiangli' as one of parents, the inheritance of main fruit characters of the pear was conducted. The results were as follows:The fruit size of 'Kuerlexiangli' was quantitative character. The average fruit size of hybrid progenies was higher by 20.38% than mid-parent value and that of backcross progenies was lower by 15.10% than mid-parent value. The fruit shape showed extensive separation and the number of ovum round fruit, accounting for 43. 76% and 57.22% of the total amount of progenies, respectively, was much more than other shape fruits in hybrid and backcross progenies; fruit flesh texture type, fruit juice content, fruit storage capacity and fruit comprehensive quality showed the reduction trend. Fruit qualities of cross and backcross progenies were lower than their mid-parent value by 42.33% and 13.52%, respectively. The decline degree of other three characters was 8.89 %, 13.33% and 13.52%, respectively in the cross progenies, and 11.41 %, 12.93% and 13.71%, respectively in the backcross progenies. The fruit soluble solid content of the progeny was quantitative character and expressed extensive separation. The average heritability was 103.78% and 105.57%, respectively, in the cross and backcross. Fruit shape, fruit flavor and fruit texture of the parent had higher repeatability in the progeny, and these parental types reached 63.84%, 69.96% and 56.72%, respectively, in the cross progenies, and 34.01%, 77.52% and 60.19%, respectively, in the backcross progenies. Fruit core size of hybrid progenies appeared continuous distribution with the variation range of 8.9%~15.2%. It is thought that 'Kuerlexiangli' pear should not be used as backcross parent to select new cultivar with small fruit core.
