Onion(Allium cepa L.) is one of the most important vegetable since it possesses a unique flavor and odor that made it an excellent food source in the world. Furthermore, it has certain functional role and commercial value. In the recent years, the consumption of onion has increased rapidly; therefore, onion is of broad prospects. Storage under the natural condition, the nutrition of onion was decreased and lost its quality gradually. Nowadays people more and more ask for high quality and security, because of that, this paper was carried out to study the effect of application organic fertilizer, growth, quality, onion yield and the physiological changes during the course of storage. The aim of this paper is to solve the application problem for the production of green onion in Jilin Province and the theory basis for establishing security, high quality, green food vegetables and organic fertilizer technique is provided. The results were as follow:1 organic fertilizer promoted the growth and development of onion plant. From comprehensive index we can draw a conclusion that within the input pig manure in 1499.25 to 4497.75kg/1000m~2 the onion growth was promoted and bulb was enlarged evidently with the increase of the pig manure. The optimum treatments were PM3 and PM2. When the application of chicken was in 2998.50kg/1000m~2, the treatmentCM2 was superior to others. The bulb index of each treatment was increased with the decrease of bulb diameter. The quantity of total dry matter was followed "S" growth curves.2 Fertilized organic fertilizer can improve onion quality and yield. The total soluble sugar content, Vc content, soluble solid and the proportion of sugar and acid were obviously increased by the application of organic fertilizer. The treatments PM3 and PM2 were better than others by the application of pig manure. The treatmentCM2 was superior to others by the application of chicken manure. Ethereal oil is the main factor of onion odor. Within two organic fertilizer, pig manure was better and the treatment PM3 was the best which ethereal oil content reached 0.0115%, the effect of all the treatments of pig manure were better than those of chicken manure whereas better than that of chemical fertilizer treatment.Within the certain application of organic fertilizer, the yield of onion was increased. The results were as follow: within the pig manure application in 1499.25 to 4497.75kg/1000m~2, the yield was increased with the increase application of pigmanure. Within the chicken manure application in 1499.25 to 4497.75kg/1000m2, the yield was increased with the increase application of chicken manure. When the quantity of chicken manure obtained 4497.25kg/1000m2, the yield of treatment CM3 was decreased, but compared with CM2, the difference was very little. In comparison with two organic fertilizers, chicken manure showed more advantage on yield.3 Using organic fertilizer can improve NR active and reduced nitrate content onion. The experiment was shown that the treatmentPM3 had high NR active, organic fertilizer treatments had lower nitrate content. In chicken manure treatments, the arrangement of nitrate content was as follow: CF> CM3> CM2 >CM1. The tendency of NR in all treatments was that when prolonged the application data. The NR active in leaves increased gradually, whereas the nitrate content of organic fertilizer treatments in onion bulb are low chemical fertilizer treatment CF.4 Fertilized organic fertilizer reduced MDA content in onion leaves, improved photosynthetic pigments. Within certain quantity of application, the MDA content reduced obviously with the increase application of organic fertilizer. Treatment PM2 was best, and then was chemical fertilizer treatment CF. The MDA content was lower than that of chemical fertilizer treatments. The tendency of MDA content in all treatments was as follow: the content of MDA was increased gradually with the course of bulb enlargement. The treatmentCM2 and CM3 had high photosynthetic pigments content; both were superior to chemical fertilizer treatment CF.5 Application organic fertilizer can improve soil nutrient and PH. The application of organic fertilizer can provide a part of N, P, K. It also had a certain active on conservative fertilizer, therefore, it can enhanced the content of N, K, P and PH during a long time. We got a conclusion from comprehensive index of onion, the application range of pig manure was in 1499.25 to 4497.25kg/1000m2, the nutrient content was increased with the increase of application and treatment PM3 was the best. When the application range of chicken manure was in 1499.25 to 2998.50kg/1000m2, the nutrient content was increased with the increased with the increased of application. When the quantity went beyond that, the content of nutrient reduced, the treatment CM2 was superior to others.6 Application organic fertilizer benefits onion storage. Organic fertilizer was an completely fertilizer, it can provide macronutrient and micronutrient, enhance yield, improve quality, moreover, it benefited onion storage. The onion planted by organic fertilizer was superior to that of chemical fertilizer, it also can decrease the loseweight and decay weight. We can get the conclusion from all index that: in certain application and storage date, more input of pig manure, more good effect it was, that was to say treatment PM3 and treatment PM2 were better than others; the optimum treatment was CM2 which was the middle application of chicken manure, next was CM3.
