In this study, the biological characteristics of Lycoriella pluroti Yang et Zhang were observed. The result showed that the adult long 33.8mm and have good ability of migration, photokinesis and laying egg (150320 per female); the larva mouthparts strong, and had habit of living in humus and pupating on both sides of mushroom bags. Lycoriella pluroti Yang et Zhang caused great damage to mushroom and got over 30% reduction of output in average, so it was a kind of main pests of mushroom. The existing regulation of Lycoriella pluroti Yang et Zhang in Xiangfan, Hubei Province was: it could exist during the whole year and complete a generation needed 16.329.7d in 2125℃, 30.246.6d in 14.518.5℃. Its flourishing period was from March to June and from August to October. The toxicity of several pesticides to larvae (34 instar) was detected. The results showed Regent and Beta-cyfluthrin had the best effect, and the LC50 of Regent was 0.0662mg/g which was 7.5% of that of Beta-cypermethrin(CK); the LC50 of Beta-cyfluthrin was 0.0048mg/g which was 0.5% of that of Beta-cypermethrin (CK). The EC50 of Regent and Beta-cyfluthrin to mycelium of mushroom were 1.3718mg/g and 0.0232mg/g respectively, which were both higher than their own LC50. So these two pesticides had no bad effect to the development of mushroom. The pointing spraying effect on field trial of Regent and Beta-cyfluthrin were all higher than 90%, and immersing effect on field trial of them were similar with above, but the optional spraying effect of them were lower than 70%. The 7d pesticide residue of Regent and Beta-cyfluthrin were 0, the 15d pesticide residue of Regent and Beta-cyfluthrin were 0, too. So, Regent and Beta-cyfluthrin were completely usable on pest control on mushroom. The method of identifying damage of Lycoriella pluroti Yang et Zhang was constructed on the base of previous research and this study. The reduction of mycelium and the amount of dejecta were defined as the criterion of damage. In pest control of Lycoriella pluroti Yang et Zhang, improving the development environment and growing method of mushroom were the most important method; agricultural and physical methodwere preferential (sunlight inducing method was advocated); in seriously damaged region, pointing spraying 1/1500—1/1000 Regent and 1/16000—1/8000 Beta-cyfluthrin were effective method; for destructively damaged mushroom bag, immersing method should be used.
