Field experiments on the coupling effects of water and nitrogen on the flue-cured tobacco variety Zhong 101 with drop irrigation were conducted in 20032004.The influence of coupling effects between water and nitrogen coupling on the growth ,and the translocation of water and nitrogen,and the dynamic changes of water and nitrogen in the field,and yield,and quality of the tobacco was studied in this experiment.The object was to provide theoretical evidence for the tobacco production.The main results are as follows:(1)The results showed that with the increasing of nitrogen ,the content of N,P,K in tobacco plant increased significantly. The effects of different factors affected N,P,K uptakes is in the following order ,applying nitrogen>irrigation. The nutrient content did not increase significantly when the irrigation increased from 225.0 m3·hm-2 to 450.0 m3·hm-2. Irrigation, applying nitrogen increased the quantity of nutrient transport from root to leaf ;The nutrient content of top leaf is most,the nutrient content of middle leaf is in the next place.(2)The height,stem perimeter and leaf area all augmented with irrigation and nitrogen increasing; The agronomical characters were best under the irrigation 450m3·hm-2 and nitrogen 67. 5kg ? hm-2. The coupling of the irrigation 450.0 m3·hm-2 and the nitrogen 45.067.5kg ? hm-2 advanced the growth of tobacco. The irrigation and the nitrogen 45. Okg ?hm-2 made for the growth of the root, stem . The effects of different factors affected dry matter of the top leaf is in the following order ,nitrogen>irrigation,.The dry matter is most under the irrigation 225.0 m3·hm-2 and nitrogen 67. 5kg ? hm-2.(3)The irrigation 225.0m3·hm-2 could satisfy the need of the tobacco growth;The soil water and nitrogen may be leached to the deep horizon of soil on the condition of irrigation above 450. 0 m3·hm-2. The effects of water and N fertilizers has a rational range, the higher water and nitrogen use efficiency , production value efficiency were obtained under the range of nitrogen 45.067.5 kg ? hm-2 and irrigation 225.0450.0m3·hm-2.
