Study On Genetics Analysis And Germplasm Innovation Of Distant Crossing Between Cultivated Maize And Zea. Luxurians

Distant cross between cultivated maize (4792 and 3153) and Z.mixicana was done, and investigated some agronomic traits of hybrid progeny, to search high efficient breeding route in reason. Chemically inducing virgin birth on hybrid progeny was conducted to overcome amuck separate and then improve breeding efficiency for selecting the valued plant from hybrid progeny populations which could help to develop useful strain and get high quality maize hybrid with field production. Protein content was analyzed and PAGE about seed of distant crossing hybrid and its parents was to claerify the relation between electrophoresis belts and protein content.The results were summarized as follows:1. Through artificial pollination, distant cross was made between cultivated and Z. mixicana. Investigating Days to tassel, Days to silk, Days to pollen, Plant height, Ear height and tillers based on the characteristics of hybrid progeny F₁, F₂ and B₁, analyse their genetic variation.The results showed that plant height and ear height have bigger variation than other traits;female ear has stronger sensitivity to photoperiod than male ear do.Compared genetic effect to the two breeding routes: selfcross and backcross, the ear character of B₁ was best,and the genetic variation is least in three generations,which indicates that B₁ had run to stabilization, and it can be chosen in breeding. Selecting the valued plant from backcross populations, can develope useful strain and get high quality maize hybrid with field production.Z.mixicana can be hybridized with different type cultivated maize, and their hybrid progeny have bearing power, but different type cultivated maize were crossed with Z.mixicana, their offspring ears existed discrepancy. In distant crossing, the germplasm of maize markedly affect the character of their offspring ears, selecting excellent strain to cross, can improve breeding course .2.
