Wild soybean (Glycine soja) is an annual legume species, which distributes widely in China and easten region of Asia, and is one of plant species mainly protected in China.During the growth season, legume forages generally do not grow well in the summer of southern of China, where is much rainfall and higher level of groundwater. Therefor Wild soybean may be used as forage in that area because it has high adaptability, higher protein content and strong resistance to stress. However, there was few reports on wild soybean used as forage production .To acquire more informations of forage production, this study was conducted to evaluate the productivity of dry matter (DM)and forage quality of wild soybean under natural condition and cultivation condition. The results showed that leaf area index (LAI)and crop growth rate (CGR)of wild soybean increased rapidly before the pre-blooming stage under natural condition in delta of Yellow River, and then declined gradually. DM yield increased rapidly before the pre-blooming stage, the highest was 320g.m~-2 at the pre-blooming stage. Content of neutral detergent fiber (NDF)and acid detergent fiber (ADF) in dry matter increased gradually from 42.59%,32.03% at the seedling stage to 61.50%, 46.68% at the podding stage, respectively;however, crude protein (CP)content and in vitro dry matter digestibility( IVDMD) gradually decreased from 20.89%, 68.2% at mid-branching stage to 11.3%, 49.42% at fruiting stage, respectively. The highest digestible dry matter yield was 112.9 g.m~-2 at full blooming stage. These results indicated that wild soybean has high forage productivity and good forage quality, it may be used for cultivation as excellent forage.Under mono-sown condition. LAI and CGR of wild soybean increased rapidly before the pre-blooming stage, and then increased slowly or declined gradually. DM yield was320g m~-2 at the pre-blooming stage, then increased slowly ,and was 382 g.m~-2 at podding stage. The wild soybean was cut for three times at mid-branching stage with well regrowth ability when harvested at early growth stage, and DM yield (398.8 g.m~-2) was significantly (p<0.05) higher than that of other growth stages when it was only cut one time due to later harvesting. NDF contentr in dry matter increased gradually from 49.07% at the mid-branching stage to 60.09% at the podding stage; however, CP content and IVDMD gradually decreased from 19.50% and 68.3% at mid-branching stage to 12.19% and 53.76% at podding stage, respectively. Digestible DM yield of podding stage showed the highest (197.6 g.m~-2) at the first cut; but significantly (p<0.05) lower than that of three cuts at mid-branching stage (275.1 g.m~-2). These results suggested that wild soybean should be harvested at early growth stage for forage utilization.Under intercropping condition, plant height, stem diameter and LAI were significantly (p<0.05)higher than control; DM yield of per plant was significantly(p<0.05) higher than control. But branch numbers was significantly(p<0.05) lower than control. DM yield of wild soybean on per unit area increased gradually as the increase of seeding rate , and at seeding rate of 22.5kg hm~-2 (354.8.m~-2)was significantly(p<0.05) higher than control, the highest (475.7 g.m~-2) was obtained at seeding rate of 37.5kg hm~-2. Total DM yield of wild soybean and sudan grass on per unit area was higher significantly (p<0.05)than that of mono-sown sudan grass and wild soybean ,and the highest (1271.6g m~-2)was obtained at seeding rate of 30kg hm~-2. CP content and IVDMD of wild soybean was significantly (p<0.05)higher than control; However, NDF content was significantly(p<0.05)lower than control. Digestible DM and CP yield of forage on per unit area had an increasing trend as the increase of seeding rate . The highest yield of Digestible DM( 614.41 g.m~-2) and CP( 62.67 g.m~-2)were obtained at seeding rate of 30kg hm~-2 and 37.5kg hm~-2 respectively; furthermore, higher significantly than that of mono-sown sudan grass and wild soybean. These results showed that forage yield of wild soybean w...
