The present study consists three experiments.The first experiment studied the optimum supply of selenium and manganese in lactating dairy cows, The second experiment studied the metabolism of selenium and manganese in growing dairy cows and effect of the blood bio-chemical index on the different supplemented selenium and manganese levels,The third experiment studied the effect of in vitro ferment on the different selenium levels.Experiment One: Effect of the milk quality and the blood bio-chemical index on the different supplemented selenium and manganese levels in lactating Dairy cowsNine lactating dairy cows were selected in the experiment,which were divided into three groups.3 x 3Ladin square was adopted in this experiment to study the effect of milk quality and the bio-chemical index of blood on the different selenium levels.The result of the experiment showed: (1) It can raise the concentration of milk fat on the selenium level of 0.6mg/kgDM(p<0.05), The level of food selenium was increased which could not affact the concentration of milk protein and the concentration of milk sugar(p>0.05).It can raise the selenium concentration of milk on the level of 0.9mg/kgDMSe(p<0.05),the relationship of the selenium concentration of milk and the level of food selenium are positive ( Y=1.833X+21.944, r=0.799, p<0.05 ) .(2)It can raise the selenium concentration of blood plasma, whool blood and glutathione peroxidase activity in erthrocytes on the level of 0.6mg/kgDM selenium(p<0.05),the relationship of the selenium concentration of blood plasma and the level of food selenium are positive ( Y=5.667X+41.111, r=0.758, p<0.05 ) ,the relationship of the selenium concentration of whool blood and the level of food selenium are positive (Y=12.167X+90.278, r=0.858, p<0.05 ) , the relationship of the glutathione peroxidase activity in erthrocytes and the level of food selenium are positive( Y=92X+1754.111, r=0.849,p<0.05 ).(3)There were no difference between the concentration of milk fat,milk protein,milk sugar,The manganese concentration of milk,blood plasma all the levels of food manganese (p>0.05 ) .Experiment Two: Metabolism of selenium and manganese in growing dairy cows and effect of the blood bio-chemical index on the different supplemented selenium and manganese levelsFour growing cows were selected in the experiment^ x 4Ladin square was adopted in this experiment to study the effect of the blood bio-chemical index on the different supplemented selenium levels.The result of the experiment showed: ( 1 ) It can raise the concentration of whool blood on the selenium level of 0.9mg/kgDM(p<0.05),the relationship of the selenium concentration of whool blood and the level of food selenium are positive(Y=1.825X+96.2, r=0.517, p<0.05) . (2) It can raise the glutathione peroxidase activity in erthrocytes on the selenium level of 0.6mg/kgDM(p<0.05),the relationship of the glutathione peroxidase activity in erthrocytes and the level of food selenium are positive(Y=20.875X+1751.375, r=0.764, p<0.05 ) ,the glutathione peroxidase activity in erthrocytes was more sensitive than the selenium concentration of whool blood to present the level of food selenium. ( 3 ) the relationship of the apparent absorption and the level of food seleniumwere negative ( Y= - 5.485X+46.105 , r=0.689 , p<0.05 ) ,the apparent absorption of the higher manganese level was less than the less one( p<0.05 ).( 4 ) The relationship of the apparent retention and the level of food selenium were negative ( Y= - 6.302X+36.569, r=0.718, p<0.05 ) ,the apparent retention of the higher selenium level was less than the less one(p<0.05 ) . (5 ) The different levels of food manganese can not affact the manganese concentration of blood plasma (p>0.05 ). ( 6 ) The relationship of the apparent absorption and the level of food manganese were negative (Y=- 0.366X+2.37, r=0.661, p<0.05 ) .the apparent absorption of the higher manganese level was less than the less one (p<0.05 ) . (7 ) There were no differences in the apparent retention of all groups.But the relationship of the apparent retention and the level of food manganese were negative (Y= -0.081X+1.018, r=0.244) .Experiment Three: Effect of the fermentation in vitro on the different selenium levelsThe experiment studied the effect of the fermentation in vitro on the different selenium levels.The result showed:The different levels of selenium can not affect the gas production and pH(p>0.05),the production of acetic,propionic,butyric and VFA on 0.3mg/kgDMSe or more were less than on Omg/kgDMSe.
