Enteroccoccus is human and animal's intestines constant bacterium. It is an important opportunistic pathogen. In these years, because of abuse of antibioic, especially the third Cepalosporin, Enterococcus is becoming major nosomiai pathogens, and increasing resistance to vancomtcin has well documented. NISS ranked it as the second pathogeny bacterium.11 enterococci isolates from brains, livers, spleens and bloods of dying lambs from four different regions in the north of Xinjiang were identified by three different biochemical reaction methods and PCR as Enterococcus faecalis(6/11) and Enterococcus faecium(5/11). 7 isolates' hemolysis to sheep and rabbit bloods were β-hemolysis and 2 were γ-hemolysis. The animal experiments results of these isolates bing hemolysis to lambs, mice and rabbits, indicated that they were virulent to those animals. It was also indicated hemolysis might be an important virulence factor.5 isolates were identified as Lancefleld D, 1 was Lancefield G and 5 were unknown types by using Streptococcus Grouping Kit.Drug sensitive tests were studied by three different ways, namely the Antibiotic Tablet, the Antibiotic Dilution and the VITEK-AMS 32 system. The results showed that the isolates to Florfenicol and Cepalosporin were hyposensitive, to Qunolones (Enrofloxacin and Norflox) were sensitive, to β-lactams (Penicillin and Ampicillin), Aminoglycosides (Streptomycin, Gentamycin and Kanamycin) and Tetracycline (Terramycin), (Erythromycin), Lincomycin Hydrochloride were insensitive.By using tuf specificity primers, Polymerase chain reaction(PCR) was performeded to identified Lamb Enterococci isolates. 112 bp tuf gene fragment were amplified respectively with the genome of each isolate as template. This was first report of lamb encephalitis inducing by enterococcus, and systematacially study some of biological characteristics of enterococci isolates..
