Abstract/Summary:
With molecular biotechnology, mutants are widely used for selecting new elite varieties, studying genes and their functions. In this paper, molecular markers between the mutants and the donor varieties in sugarcane were detected by AFLP analysis. The main results are as follows:1. Total 110 pairs of AFLP primers were used to amplify the DNA of the mutants and donor varieties, based on the reliable AFLP amplification system that had been established by us, and five of them resulted in stable polymorphism between the mutants and their donors.2. The DNA polymorphism of the mutants and their donor varieties were detected by the 5 pairs of AFLP primers. The polymorphism was various between them. Most mutants had more than two different loci from the donor var ieties.3. Three AFLP markers were found in the 4 detected mutants. A 1Kb AFLP marker which was amplified by the primers E12M11, E12M9 and E11M3 was found in the mutant of the GT11 Bian. A 630bp AFLP marker which was amplified by the primers E12M11 and E11M3 was specifically related with the mutant of the GT11 Bian and the Gong Pei Ya, and a 740bp AFLP marker which was amplified by the primers E12M9 and E3M9 was found in the mutant of the Luo Gu Zhe.
