The Design and Implementation of an Information Management System for Vegetable Seeds and Growth Problems in the Field (Abstract)Liu xuxinSupervised by professor lin chen Xinjiang is a biggest region of China, Various types of vegetable will be cultivated in fields, and many conflicts between seed's seller and farmers will happen every year. Many cases were caused by the weather and cultivation reason, and according to the statistics of College of Horticulture of Xinjiang Agriculture UN only 20% of them were seeds quality problems. So it is necessary to make a program for settle those problems for farmers and companies that provided seed for farmers. This research studies the technology in the cultivation of vegetable through using information technology, which is the example of using high technology in the traditional cultivation field .The information of vegetable cultivation in program is the expression of the related knowledge in digit (0 or 1) through computer. It is value to do so because the transform can make the vegetable cultivation adapt the modern society and will meet the needs of the new agriculture developments. It is need to compile the results and experiences of vegetable cultivation from expert into the application on computer, which actually mines the traditional experience in the vegetable cultivation and then gets new knowledge from vegetable cultivation practice. The thesis summarizes the situation and tendency of Expert System's developing currently. Then the thesis analyzes today's situation of horticulture outgrowth in Xinjiang and necessity of a expert system in horticulture. So do the expert system on analyzes of the problems in vegetable cultivation. It elaborates the importance and current situation of Xinjiang vegetable production and process of making application. We made this application by using Powerbuilder8.0, with powerful functions of PB we could make a application for horticulture science. The System has several functions: Databased knowledge decision and diagnosis of vegetable problems in cultivation. The inquire of seeds information and pictures in fact.The inquire of some information related to problems of vegetable.Providing for user a database to store information happened in their own fields.Providing principles and methods of solution of incidents of vegetable happened in vegetable fields.
