Paralichthys olivaceus is one of the most important economic fish large-scale factory farmed in China. One of the most commonly observed problems in the production of larvae and juveniles of Paralichthys olivaceus is the occurrence of albinism and ambicoloration, which has great influence on its economic value and in the wild the occurrence of albinism increases the probability of being caught by predators. There are many reasons in the occurrence of albinism, but the nutritional factors are the most important reason. So, we studied the technology of reducing the incidence of albinism. According to specific conditions, we fed the larvae of Paralichthys olivaceus with live prey--enriched Rotifer and Artemia. In large-scale factory farming we fed the larvae of Paralichthys olivaceus with rotifer, which enriched with Nchlorella vulgaris and fish oil, then fed with Artemia, also enriched with fish oil. At the same time, we used Vitamin A and Vitamin D enriched the Rotifer and Artemia, and then control the density of Nchlorella vulgaris at 7~9 lac individuals/ml, the density of Rotifer at 10~11 individuals/ml and the density of Artemia at 1~2 individuals/ml in the water ponds. It can rich the need of larvae and juveniles of Paralichthys olivaceus. By this way, we can control the incidence of albinism no more than 1-2‰ and invented a new farming technology, it was not found at the home and abroad. We also studied the melanophores and the Amino acid composition of the body of Paralichthys olivaceus.
