Longwangmao Apricot, which was the dominent apricot varieties for almond use in Beijing region, was the material of this experiment. Experiment has been conducted to investigate the changes of betaine content in Longwangmao apricot leaves under water stress. The result indicated that the betaine content in apricot leaves accumulated a great deal under water stress. The thesis also studied the effects of exogenous betaine on some physiological indexes of drought resistance for Apricots brought up in pots. Compared with the treament of serving with plantiful water, the leaves of 2-year-old Longwangmao apricot seedlings were sprayed with water, 100 mg/L betaine resolution and 500 mg/L betaine resolution respectively before experiment beginging. The results showed that exogenous betaine was able to mentain higher photosythesis ability of apricot leaves under mild and moderate water stress. With decreasing soil moisture, exogenous betaine sprayed on leaves of apricot was not able to improve proline and carbohydrate content , but it was able to increase SOD,POD,AsA-POD activity of apricot leaves, decrease O2- and MDA content of apricot leaves, and reduce membrane damage under water stress . The results of this experiment showed that a low concentration(100 mg/L) exogenous betaine has better effect than high concentration(500 mg/L) one. |
