Three breeds of sheep, Poll Dorset, Texel Mutton Sheep and Mongolian Sheep were used in this study. Each kind of sheep was divided into three groups that is lamb group, young group and adult group, 30 sheep per group. Thyroid hormone, Thyroid-Stimulating hormone, Selenium, Glutathione peroxidase and peripheral blood T lymphocyte (CD2) and Mononuclear Macrophage (CD14) were determined by using Radioimmunoassay (RIA), Visible Spectrophotofluorometry,Fluorospectrophotomery and Flow Cytometer Technique respectively from the serum samples, wool samples and anticoagulate samples. The results showed that the levels of Thyroid hormone and Thyroid-Stimulating hormone in serum samples of Mongolian Sheep were significantly higher than those of Poll Dorset and Texel Mutton Sheep(P<0.05). The levels of selenium in serum and wool samples of Mongolian Sheep were significantly higher than those of Poll Dorset and Texel Mutton Sheep(P<0.05). The activity of Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in serum samples of Mongolian Sheep was significantly higher than those of Poll Dorset and Texel Mutton Sheep(P<0.05).The levels of peripheral blood T lymphocytes(CD2) and Mononuclear Macrophage (CD14) in blood samples of Mongolian Sheep were significantly higher than those of Poll Dorset and Texel Mutton Sheep(P<0.05). Additionally, there existed a positive correlation between serum selenium level and thyroid hormone level. The experiment proved that all the levels of selenium in wool and serum,Thyroid hormone, Thyroid-stimulating hormone, GSH-Px in serum and peripheral blood T lymphocyte (CD2) and Mononuclear Macrophage ( CD14) of Mongolian Sheep were significantly higher than those of Poll Dorset and Texel Mutton Sheep(P<0.05)With the same conditions of breeding and management ,the differences of these parameters were maybe one of the reasons that the disease resisitivity of Poll Dorset, Texel Mutton Sheep are lower than that of Mongolian Sheep. ... |
