Study on Method of Land Use Updating InvestigationUsing the Technology of 3S—A Case Study of Yanshi CountySupervisor: Prof. Wu Kening, Senior Engineer. Zhang Tianyi Master Candidate: Feng XinweiABSTRACT:Land is the foundation that mankind lives and develops. It has very important meanings to grasp the dynamic change information real-timely, accurately and rapidly, for promoting rational utilization, planning and scientific management of land resource. 3S technique integration can compose a real-time and dynamic earth observing system. Especially, the fast development of the high-resolution remote sensing technology and GIS technology afford a solid foundation for land use updating investigation. This paper studies the method of land use updating investigation under the support of 3S technique by taking Yanshi County as an example, the main content of the paper is as follows:(1) Study on the process of land use updating investigation: firstly, digital Orthophotograph map was made with raw SPOT-5 image; secondly, interpretation symbol was built based on the characters of image and field, so the image can be interoperated; on the foundation of this, thirdly, detailed field investigation was carried into execution, then its production was vectorized; at last, the land use database was updated through spatial analysis of GIS, and land use map and data were output.(2) Through the comparison of land use updated data and detailed investigation data, the change information was found, its main body was 3366.00 hectares cultivated land occupied by cities and towns and villages, factories and mine. The reason was mainly that urbanization and economic development have taken up a large number of cultivated lands.(3) Through the connection and comparison of land use updated data and the change data at the same time, it was found that the quantity of cultivated land of the updated data was 2873.40 hectares less than that of change data. Correspondingly, the quantity of cities and towns and villages, factories and mine was 2438.80 hectares more than that of change data. The main reason of this was that part of the construction land had not been changed or the insufficient change of it, etc.(4) Through an analysis of whole updating investigation process, the conclusion was drawn that it was feasible to carry on land use updating investigation using SPOT-5 remote sensing image. And some shortages of the Regulation for Land Use Updating Investigation were discussed, which mainly including interpreting imagine, extracting change information and polygon partition. The suggestions were given as the reference of improving the Regulation for Land Use Updating Investigation.(5) Some shortages in the process of the research were pointed out and follow-up studies in the course of studying were pointed out including making digital Orthophotograph map, connection of land use detailed database and updating investigation database, connection of land use updating investigation and daily land management work, etc.
