Pelteobagrus fulvidraco(Richardson) belongs to Siluriformes, Bagridae, Pelteobagrus. It is an important economic fish in river and lake of China. The artificial culture of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco was highly recognized for its fine characteristics and delicious fish meat. The specimens of age 2+-5+ were collected from the broodfish rearing pond for the studies on the idividual fecundity and effects of broodfish culture methods, ages and densities of broodfish, hormons, methods of insemination and incubation on the artificial propagation in Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. The studies of the fecundity showed: The changes of gonadosomatic indices of the females were almost the same with the males in artifical culture, and its peak appeared in middle July. The spawning period was from early July to early August. The absolute fecundity ranged from 1806 to 7261 eggs with a mean of 4457 eggs. The differences was greatly significant beween the absolute fecundity and age, body length, and weight, respectively(P<0.01). The relationships between the absolute fecundity and age(a), body length(L) , and weight(W) could be expressed as F=1469.1617A0.8813, F=1.1566L3.0900, F=26.2606W1.2114, respectively. The effects of different diets of broodfish, ages and densities of broodfish, dosages of hormones, methods of insemination and incubation on the artificial propagation of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco were studied. The results showed: The effective diet of broodfish was fresh fish. The adaptive ages of broodfish were 2+-5+ for induced spawning. The reasonable broodfish density for induced spawning was 1.25-2.5 groups/m2 in natural fertilization. The optimum hormone dosages of the females and males was DOM 5 mg/kg-10 mg/kg+HCG 500 IU/kg-1000 IU/kg+LRH-A2 5g/kg-10g/kg for induced spawning. The females and males were injected twice. The interval between the two injections was 12-14 h. The natural fertilization could be used in large scale in the flourishing period of the propagation. Theartificial insemination could be used in small scale in the initial period of the propagation. There were two more effective methods of incubation for the fertilized eggs than others. One method was that the fertilized eggs could be hatched in slow flowing water in tank. Another method was that the fertilized eggs could be hatched in still water compressed by air in tank. The studies provided theory base and technical support for the propagation of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco in North China. The technique which was recommended by the study was adopted, that would contribute to the development of artificial culture. The fry and fingerling could be gained by the broodfish of rearing pond without relying on natural waters, that would conduce to natural resource protection of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco.Master Candiadae: Kong LingjieSupervisor: Professor Fan ZhaotingResearcher Zou MinMajor: Aquacuture...
