Effects of sulfur, phosphorus, Cobalt and urea on rumen fermentation were studied using Artificial Rumen. Nine treatments were designed according to Orthogonal design for each element with three levels. Six periods experiment were carried out. During each experiment, the fermentation pot were fed every day at 08:00 and 20:00 with 20g diet. 50ml rumen liquid was sampled from each fermentation pot at 08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 of the last two days in each experiment. The pH was measured immediately, the concentration of rumen liquid protein and volatilisable fatty acids were measured later. On every sample day, the activity of CMCase, Salicinase, Xylanase and Crystal Cellulosase were analyzed at 10:00 by indirect colorimetry. The results indicated that, under the circumstances, when sulfur (0.4%) was added, the concentration of NHa-N, rumen liquid protein, volatilisable fatty acids and Ace/Prop were altered significantly(P<0.05). But the activity of CMCase, Salicinase, Xylanase and Crystal Cellulosase were not affected Significantly(P>0.05). (2)The pH, Concentration of NHs-N, rumen liquid protein, Ace and Ace/Prop were increased significantly with the level of the added phosphorus(P<0.05). The concentration of Buty, Prop and the activity of CMCase, Salicinase, Xylanase, Crystal Cellulosase were not altered when phosphorus was added.(3) The pH, NHa-N and Ace/Prop were significant when cobalt was added and increased with the level of the cobalt(P<0.05). When O.lmg/kg Cobalt was added, the concentration of Ace, Prop, Buty were not altered(P>0.05). the concentration of rumen liquid protein were improved signiflcantly(P<0.05). the concentration of Ace, Prop, Buty, TVFA, rumen liquid protein and the activity of Salicinase, Xylanse were reduced significantly When 1.0mg/kg Cobalt was added(P<0.05).(4)When 1% urea was added, the pH, concentration of NHa-N were improved significantly, but it didn't affect theconcentration of Ace, Prop, Buty, VFA, rumen liquid protein and the activity of CMCase, Salicinase, Xylanase and Crystal Cellulosase(P>0.05). When 2% urea was added, all of measured index were improved significantly except of the activilty of CMCase, xylanase, Salicinase and Crystal Cellulosase(P<0.05).(5) The study indicated that S(0.4%), P(0.4%), Co(0.0mg/kg) and Urea(2%) were supplemented to the diet of ruminants will be beneficial to the fermentation of rumen microorganism, increased Nitrogen retention and improved the productivity of ruminants and economic profits.
