Account Of Forest Resources Value In Loess Plateau

Forestry resources are the basis of sustainable development. Forestry changes have huge impacts on the ecology. Because of population explosion and environmental deterioration, many researches and officials have paid their attentions to accounting forest resources value. The soil loss region of Loess Plateau is main source of sediment of the Yellow River, and also is key region returning cropland to forest and pasture land. So it is important to research forest resources value in the soil loss region of Loess Plateau in the theoretic and practical senses. The paper summarizes the index system and methods of forest resources value accounting by means of field investigates, expert consults and documentary analysis. Based on present situation analysis of forest resources in the loss region of Loess Plateau, each forest stand area and forest accumulation of forest resources are summarized. Applying the basic theories and methods of forest resources value accounting, the paper accounts the environmental values and material values of forest resources in the soil loss region of Loess Plateau. Finally, the total value and components of forest resources are calculated. Main results are as follows: (1) the total value of forest resources is 1260.042 billon Yuan; (2) among the total value, the environmental value is 1192.278 billion Yuan hitting 94.62 percent of the total value, the woodland value 10.402 billion Yuan accounting for 0.83 percent, and the woods value 57.362 billion Yuan accounting for 4.55 percent. The results explain that environmental value is the main part of forest resources values. So it is obvious that environmental value of forest resources is very important and more attention should be paid to it.
