Through the disease sample of soft rot in Chinese cabbage gathered in different parts of Heilongjiang province in the 8th to 10 th of 2001 and fornu physiological and biochemistrical characters of pathogenic bacteria to soft rot disease, experiment indicated that Ecc is the major germ that caused soft rot in Chinese cabbage in Heilongjiang. So we should mainly study it in Heilongjiang.,Several methods of identification of resistance to soft rot disease at seedling stage were studied with replicated orthogonal design. The results showed that the option condition of identifying Chinese cabbage resistant to soft rot disease was as follows: The 6th leaf seedling; The innoculation method is each crosscut 4mm and each verticalcut 4mm;The concentration of innoculated bacteria is 107/ml.According to the method and the concrete germs of Ecc,20 varieties of Chinese cabbage in different parts , which were often grown for production ,were innoculated and identified. Five different hosts were selected according to the different situations of resistant and infected reactions, they were Chinese cabbage GaoKangYiHao, Chinese cabbage QiouLv60, Chinese cabbage LongBaiErHao, Chinese cabbage QinBai ErHao, Chinese cabbage KuaiChun. Based on the reaction of 20 isolates on five different hosts, they were identified with 5 types named I type, II type, III type, VI type, V type, and I type is the dominant type.44 varieties of Chinese cabbage from breeding laboratory of Chinese cabbage of horticultural college in northeast agricultural university were innoculated by Ecc-1-0 in the dominant pathogenic types V, 1 resistant material, 12 tolerant materials,28 infected seriously differential materials were screened, and both the resistant material and tolerant materials may be used in breeding in future.
