Studies on Dusffall in Hetian and Its Effect on Soil Wenqian (Soil Science) Surpervised by Prof.Zhong junpmg and Prof. Guanxin Abstract: The atmosphere natural dustfall was collected with dry subsidence in lletian area at south edge of Tarim basin. And comparing soil column with the sealed soil column simulate the series change when the soil took in dustfall. Our analysis showed: (1) The dustfall in Hetian was not only the amount was large but also the frequency was high. The monthly average of dustfall quantity was 825.20Kg! hm2. It often happened in spring and summer especially in May and its quantity was obviously changed with month changing. (2) Dustfall in different month had different physico-chemical properties and its effect on soil was long and lasting. (3) The amount of small particles was added by dustfall, the particle composition and the quality of cultivation got better; the quality of maintaining water and fertilizer was slightly more than before. (4) There are many kinds of salt in dustfall and this is a way to cause accumulation of salt in soil. (5) There are many kinds of quick result and slow result nutrient element in dustfall such as Mo Zn Fe Mn. This is A important resource of potential nutrient of soil.
