| Bioinformatics, an emerging interdiscipline blending Computer science, Statistics, and Biology, plays a great role in promoting science development, especially in the development of life science. This article tries to research the chloroplast whole genome of American ginseng using Bioinformatics method. The size of this genome is 156359 bp, and it consists of SSC, LSC and two IR areas. The two IR areas are divided into two parts by SSC and LSC. The size of SSC is 18081 bp, taking 11.56% of the whole genome; while the size of LSC is 86,184bp, and the percentage is 55.10. The size of two IR area is 52153 bp, taking 33.34% of the whole genome. For the chloroplast genome referred in this article, there are 112 unique genes are noted, in which 4 tRNA,8 RNA and 56 protein coding are included. In these,15 genes contain intron, in which 11 genes contain one intron and 4 genes contain 2 intron.Chloroplast is an important organelle for plant, also an important place for photosynthetic and energy conversion. Chloroplast belongs to maternal inheritance, having its own independent genetic material. In terms of system evolution research, genetic engineering, species identification and fine breeding, chloroplast has unique advantage. Getting data of chloroplast whole genome is the basic premise for chloroplast study. This article makes a high degree of chloroplast genome coverage, which provides proof for researching American ginseng chloroplast.Belonging to Araliaceae ginseng species, American ginseng is an important medical plant, and it is the root for medical use. American ginseng mainly grows in north America, also being planted in Beijing and Dongbei of China. Through extracting, sequencing, montaging and noting of American ginseng chloroplast, analysis of sequential data, comparison of genome and study of Araliaceae plant system evolution, the author dig some basic information of American ginseng chloroplast genome, like GC-content, gene classification, definition of chloroplast four areas, etc. In addition, SSR analysis is also made in this article, which lays a foundation for the molecular marker of chloroplast genome. Analysis above makes the sequential data fully present, being easy to know American ginseng more clearly and offering reference for medical plant and other Araliaceae plant study. The place of American ginseng in Araliaceae plant can be confirmed by system evolution research. In all, this research subject provides significant data and reference value for the comparison of American ginseng chloroplast genome, molecular marker and evolution study. |
