Soybean(Glycine max) mutant Gmdwarf1 was the phenotype of dwarf late-flowering. The plant height of Gmdwarf1 could be restored and the growth state turned from vegetative stage to reproductive stage after treatment with gibberellin(GA). Carrying out the genetic regulation and mapping the locus of the dwarf late-flowering trait in mutant Gmdwerf1 was beneficial to cloning the locus and analyzing its function, to clarifying whether there exists of GA pathway during flowering, to studying the genetics of height plant and the molecular mechanism of plant height forming, to developing varieties in plant type and growth period of soybean.The hereditary stability of plant height and flowering trait and the capacity of seed developing plant were analyzed in wild-type Zhonghuang39 and mutant-type Gmdwarf1 of soybean. The genetic regulation of the dwarf late-flowering characteristics was carried out with the materials of parents, F1 and F2 of the combination of Gmdwarf1 and Zhonghuang39. Mapping the locus of the dwarf late-flowering characteristics was based on the separated population of F2 of the combination of Gmdwarf1 and Zhonghuang39 in soybean. The results were obtained as following:1. Rate of seed developing plant of Gmdwarf1 being dwarf late-flowering was very significantly less than the wild-type soybean having normal plant height and flowering trait. The phenotype of plant height and flowering could be stably inherited to the next generation in both mutant type and wild-type of soybean.2. The dwarf late-flowering trait of mutant Gmdwarf1 was controlled by the single recessive gene locus in soybean.3. The locus of the dwarf late-flowering of the mutant Gmdwarf1 of soybean was located in the linkage group K nearby the SSR markers of Satt417, Satt264 and Satt337. And the genetic distance between the dwarf late-flowering locus and Satt417 and Satt317 were 14.4cM and 12.8cM respectively in the mutant Gmdwarf1 of soybean.
