Plant secondary metabolites is the foundation of the quality of medicinal materials and their clinical curative effect. But during the cultivation, the accumulation of secondary metabolites in medicinal plants will be affected by environmental factors, cultivation technique and the calculation time. These factors may lead to the cultivated medicinal plants with different quality. The chemical control technology of traditional Chinese herbal medicine is an economic and efficient cultivation measure. It is through the external application of plant growth regulator to control the content of the endogenous hormones in plants, and then control the growth of plant and the secondary metabolism process in plants. Recent studies show that jasmonic acid plays an important role in the process of plant secondary metabolism and has become a kind of plant growth regulator application in the process of cultivation of traditional Chinese herbal medicine. It can improve the production and quality of medicinal materials.Polygala tenuifolia, a widely used bulk herb in China, has widely pharmacological effects and high clinical value, so the demand for the domestic and overseas is high. But the shortage of the wild resources and the circulation of substandard cultivation of medicinal plants can’t meet the market demand. It’s important to seek a effective cultivation measure to gain high yield and good quality of medicinal materials. In this experient, taking P. tenuifolia Willd. as the research object and using methyl jasmonic acid to regulate the growth of the field cultivation of Polygala tenuifolia, reserch on the different concentration and fertilization time of methyl jasmonate influenced the main content of medicinal composition and the growth of plant.Primarily established the spraying rule of methyl jasmonic acid at the exuberant growth period and seedling period of Polygala tenuifolia. The main results were as follows:1. In seedling period, spraying 0.05 mmol/L exogenous MeJA can promote the root biomass strongly and improve the production of the medicinal part of Polygala tenuifolia. Exogenous MeJA treatment maybe a short-term and fast stimulation, but it can enhance the long-term resistance of the Polygala tenuifolia seedling.Spraying 0.05mmol/L MeJA can promote the accumulation of the root bioass in Polygala tenuifolia (medicinal part), so it may also improve the production of Polygala tenuifolia. In conclusion, when Polygala tenuifolia seedlings treated by exogenous MeJA, the appropriate concentration is 0.05 mmol/L,because it can improve the production of the medicinal parts and the quality of Polygala tenuifolia at the same time.2. In exuberant growth period, in the long run, spraying exogenous MeJA is beneficial to the accumulation of the photosynthetic pigment in the leaves, but in the short term it may cause great damage. Spraying 10.0 mmol/L MeJA is advantageous to the accumulation of main efficacy components in the medicinal part of Polygala tenuifolia, so it may also improve the quality of Polygala tenuifolia. To sum up, Polygala tenuifolia. has different sensitivity for the exogenous MeJA. Low concentration of exogenous MeJA can improve the production of Polygala tenuifolia. seedling and the quality in the medicinal part of Polygala tenuifolia.. And high concentration of exogenous MeJA can improve the accumulation of main medicinal active ingredients in the medicinal part of Polygala tenuifolia during exuberant growth period.
