With the development of computer technology and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology, Calculating Wind Engineering (CWE) as a new research method in the wind-environmental studies field develops quickly. In this paper, based on the commercial software CFD, the effects of some major factors on natural room ventilation are studied. Good indoor natural ventilation is beneficial to physical and mental health, and also conducive to environmental protection and energy conservation. In this article, main factors, which have effects on natural room ventilation are analyzed. The influences of two factors, namely, wind direction and outdoor architectural layout on indoor natural ventilation are studied more deeply, aiming at giving a certain recommendations about the natural housing ventilation design. Through numerical simulation technology, three parts of work are done in this paper, First, analysis of impacts of different wind directions on natural ventilation of the same indoor layout and of the same wind direction on natural ventilation of different indoor layouts. the relationship between wind direction and impact on indoor natural ventilation are similar inverse proportion, that is, the smaller the wind direction better indoor ventilation; second, analysis of impacts of residential area layout on room natural ventilation the impact of indoor layout on indoor natural ventilation should not be neglected while the impact of the distances of buildings indoor natural ventilation can be; The last, evaluating the results by using the evaluation criteria used at home and abroad for the analysis of indoor natural ventilation human satisfaction, so as to provide a basis to meet regulatory requirements evaluating the ventilation of indoor housing. the consistency of the height of buildings lying along the wind direction goes against indoor natural ventilation, so for the design of buildings with different heights, the order should be from low to high along the wind direction so that the indoor natural ventilation will be good.
