The tower crane is the key equipments in architecture industry. With the development and prevalence of computers, the computation technology is being applied in more and more industries, and the computation method is incorporated with traditional technologies more and more tightly in the mechanics industry. Presently, the structural design of tower cranes mainly uses the static method, not solving the key problem of structural response when rising, in despite of its good use for designation. This paper uses the H125/75 prototype from SANYO HEARY INDUSTRY GROUP as the object, and finite element method and mechanical dynamics as theory, parametric technology and ANSYS as tools to analyze the tower crane, regarding to typical working condition—rising from the ground, starting amplitude and both of rising and amplitude. And get the results of stress and displacement and study the static and dynamic performance of this tower crane. The main job as following:(1) Create model of the tower crane structure. Use APDL and parametric technology construct the FEA program. It is useful to remodel or recalculate. And analyze normal working conditions. Analysis checks static stiffness and strength. (2) Research the dynamic performance of this tower crane, and construct the modal program. It is useful for random range modal. And get the top 12 modal. (3) Research the transient performance, and construct the program. And the program can be used for every scope when crane works.Analysis checks dynamic stiffness and strength.(4) Regarding the typical condition which is lifting rated load in the most large lifting moment department, optimize the cross-section to reduce the weight of the whole tower crane. Through optimizing design we can reduce the weight of the H125/75 tower crane. Above results can be used to direct the method of design and improve the technical performance of crane.
