Nowadays, all kinds of advanced design theories and techniques all contribute to the final products and services. Mechanical design is an important part of mechanical engineering. It is the main determinant of the function and performance of products and it is also the premise and assurance for the quality of products. Design relates to the prosperity of corporations even the country's development and progress. The key part of design is the proper way of design, and the traditional design method played the vital role for humanity's civilization, it provided a foundation for the modern design method theory as well. But refer to the various modern design methods, there has not been a all-purpose design method as the general theory to conduct design. People only can try to find out the most appropriate way under the specific conditions and requests which are not controllable to manufacture the products with which the customers are satisfied. This paper, according to the actual situation of present projects and massive references that predecessors proposed, summarizes the fuzzy reliable theory, steady optimization design theory as well as the development of algorithm application in optimization design genetic method, and carries on the analysis, comprehensive and application.The chapter about fuzzy reliability mainly narrates the elementary knowledge of reliable theory, including completing the determination function degree of membership criterion, how the fuzzy restraint transform to the ordinary restraint which is easy to solve, the design stress and intensity solution steps and models in different kinds of distributed conditions in machine design, and all types of ways to solve gear's restraint, fuzzy reliability optimization design model solution steps.The chapter about robustness optimization design mainly analyzes the basic principles of the steady design theory, the application models and the qualities, functions, characteristics of products. And it gives a design to choose the best objective function so as to reduce the volume and the weight, cut the cost during so many objective functions under the condition that to achieve the steady design.The genetic algorithm analysis chapter mainly introduces the theory of genetic algorithm which analyzes its movement mechanism, especially gives a thorough research discussion to the solution of sufficiency function and an explicit illustration in the penalty choice. The counter gear transmission in the use genetic algorithm carries on the optimization design in the situation, confirms the objective function through the change many kinds of initial conditions to have stable astringent and the overall situation optimal solution.In order to facilitate the calculation and analysis, this paper also, combined with Matlab, the powerful mathematical calculation software analysis, proposes the corresponding program in the process of studying the mechanical design method. As a result, through specific examples, it proves that the design theory not only brings a better result in solving practical problems compared to the tradition design method, but also speeds up the computation greatly to save much time, which proves that the present design method is a feasible attempt.
