Microeffect Analysis Of Urban Expansion Based On The Residents

Since reform and opening up, China has entered into a rapid stage of urbanization. Urban expansion is the first sign of urbanization, which is space propulsion under the inside-outside motivation, showing the expansion and extends at the level and vertical direction. The essence of expansion is the land use type of city continuously optimize in the space, economic development is the fundamental driving force. However, when the urban expansion rapid impels economy increase, it also brings out a lot of problems: over-consumption of resources such as farmland, water, energy, the tendency towards worsening environmental pollution, traffic congestion, extend of the commute time, social inequality and so on. Therefore, people have not reached an agreement about urban expansion. Scholars in China focus on the model and the effect on commute in domestic references, very few in the effect of urban expansion on the resident and enterprises from the microscopic view.Based on the analysis of the basic and academic system of Urban Economics, the technology of GIS and econometric model, thesis discussed the essential feature and micro effect of urban expansion in Jinan, and tried to summarize the effect of urban expansion on the dwelling, employment, commute, and compared the utility difference in different location, which can enrich the theory of urban space, and make an offer of countermeasures and reference to the development of urban and space planning, so that the countermeasures can give service to the residents.The thesis falls into six parts, the first part is introduction, and others are organized according to the logical sequence from the theoretical explanation to quantitative analyses.Theoretical study was carried out in Part 2, 3. It introduced the related concept and the difference of urban expansion model at abroad and home. Based on the economic theories of spatial expansion, it also discussed the micro effect of urban expansion on the dwelling, public service facility, employment and commute from theoretical perspectives.Empirical study was carried out in Part 4 and 5.Based on GIS, part 4 analyzed the characteristic of the built-up urban area expansion since 1990, and qualitatively analyzed the difference on the dwelling, public service facilities (education, commerce, medical treatment, and other facilities), employment and commute in process of Jinan's urban expansion.In part 5, using of questionnaire, the author compared the difference between the center area and fringe area in dwelling, commute, shopping, and public services ,and drawing lesson from Brueckner's single central city static model, it made equation of housing demand, to reflect the influence of urban expansion on the resident's aggregate utility.Some Countermeasures based on the residents are put forward in the end.
