Facing the extensive input of induction motors load and a research focus of distributed generation to make the problem of voltage sags more outstanding, the affect for society will more continuous expansion. This paper based on characteristics of voltage sags and development of new energy to study the following three questions for probabilistic assessment voltage sags, impacting of induction motors on voltage sags and the capability of distributed generation for remission the problem of voltage sags.Firstly, this work based on Monte Carlo to built the fault type, the fault line, the fault position, the failure duration and other information of probabilistic model, which is implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC, by taking sample of the fault information by Multiple Run package, which derive the expected value of voltage sags amplitude and duration .Then the voltage sags characteristic parameters and sag energy indices are statistical evaluation.Secondly, many assessment and analysis on the influence of induction motors on voltage sag only too attention induction motors start to emphasize induction motors'dynamic while the process of voltage sags. The effects of induction motors'dynamic response on voltage sags are derived based on mathematical model which combine with the process of voltage sags. By use of PSCAD/EMTDC package, a simulation model is built to calculate the effects of induction motors'dynamic response on the characteristic parameters of voltage sags such as waveform, amplitude and duration, besides the influence of symmetrical and asymmetrical sags on the characteristics of induction motors such as bus current, speed and electromagnetic torque. Finally, the article base on characteristics of distribution network with the interconnection of distributed generation (DG),which is implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC to build the model of distributed generation. The different type, capacity, location of the distributed generation are simulation and comparison, which obtain the capability of DG for remission the problem of voltage sags.
