The safely operation of the electric power system appears extremely important to the entire development of the national economy, which has draw the highly emphasis of various governmental levels. The fact that some key hot points in modern electric system such as generator windings, high-voltage transformer, high-voltage switchgear and power cable connector are overheating or temperature rise too quickly, which is certain to shorten the life span of electrical equipment, and even caused a seriously big fire leading to a heavy loss. Therefore, we must monitor the temperature and prevent the accidents effectively in order to ensure the safety in production.It is impossible for us to achieve precise measurement because the expected test hot points are in a strong electromagnetic interference which means the highly vulnerable that the traditional electronic sensors are to such influences. The unique ability of anti-electromagnetic interference that the Fiber Bragg Grating processes associated with its tiny volume, high accuracy, good durability and easy installment and convenient network formation, which is beyond comparison for the other electrical sensors. Therefore, the research towards the application of fiber grating in monitoring the hot spots belonging to the power system is of realistic significance.The purpose of this paper is to develop a temperature monitoring software system suitable for the electricity power system, based on Lab-VIEW software platform, aims to perform various functions including the data collection of the hot points, its remote transmission and transfinite alarm, all of which will be sure to lay the solid foundation for the application of fiber grating temperature sensor in the temperature monitoring field of power systems.First and foremost, in this article, not only the advantages and disadvantages of the different temperature monitoring program are concluded but an introduction to a fiber grating temperature sensing principle and sensor wavelength demodulation method are also made based on the analysis of power measurement temperature technology. Some discussions about the design requirements, structure and package for Fiber Bragg Grating were made, additionally, and the characteristic curve of temperature and wavelength of the sensor, and the system program multi-channel high-capacity fiber grating temperature monitoring network used in the experiment were provided.In the second place, there is a deep study of the developmental process of virtual instrument; LabVIEW is chosen as the software development platform of Power measuring temperature system. We also designed measurement temperature software functional structure and system flow, and classified power system hot point temperature rise situation. We determine to adopt threshold and slope analysis algorithm to analysis and judge logically in accordance with the characteristics of Fiber Bragg Grating sensor system. To meet the needs of real-time monitoring of electricity temperature, we developed a software system using Lab-VIEW software, which mainly accomplish the following functions such as monitoring data of high-speed network data transfer, the original data storage, multi-channel real-time temperature data show, temperature rise transfinite judge algorithm, hotspot location and alarm sound and light features when temperature transfinite.The software system this paper studies occupy a lot of functions. For instance, a good human-machine interface, illustration to the temperature changes, the replay historical records, convenient select and set of the channel and sensors, visible sound and light alarm and remote Internet data transmission. The software in actual operation is stable and reliable holding a broad application prospects.
