Strength theory and its applications are the tasks which are very complicated and widely used. To choose them as the study content is not only have the important theory meaning, but also have the great engineering applied value. The main contents in this study are:(1)Based on research results at home and abroad, rational discussion on triple-shear unified strength theory have been done from the existence of reasonable discussion, proof of non-convex limit plane, principal stress state representation, plane stress state representation,σ-τcomplex stress state representation etc. And draw three-dimensional principal stress space limit plane, which can improve the system of triple-shear unified strength theory.(2)Numerous true tri-axial test data have been consulted;Various materials test validations on triple-shear strength theory have been done; principal stress space limit surface have been drawn; and fitting analysis on the true tri-axial test data and limit surface of triple-shear strength theory have been carried out. The factors on affecting material intensive parameter have been summarized; and the rationalities and wide applicability on triple-shear strength theory have been tested and verified.(3)True tri-axial tests on remolded loess have been carried out by using tri-axial apparatus in Xi'an University of Technology; Remolded loess stress-strain relations are analyzed under the situations of true tri-axial; Specimen failure modes are described and analyzed the mechanism. Strength characteristics on remolded loess have been analyzed on the basis of studying the geometrical strength and deformation characteristics. Drawing the true tri-axial test date points in the limit loci of theπ-plane, fitting analysis on the test data and limit surface of triple-shear strength theory. The laws (yield and failure) of strength vary on the remolded loess have been obtained which is further verified the rationalities of triple-shear strength theory.
