In the highway construction of mountain region, to meet the alignment and protect the natural environment, highways need to route development along the steep-slope, resulting in partial bridge pile foundation to be located above the steep-slope. In order to ensure proper design and safe of the bridge, and intensive study of the work of the steep-slope area of the bridge foundation performance is very necessary.Based on Shiyan-Tianshui Expressway construction projects, this paper research on the work performance of the pile foundation under the lateral load in steep-slope area. Search for a conventional theory using for the feasibility of steep-slope area pile foundation. Using finite element analysis software, calculating on the steep-slope area pile foundation's load transfer mechanism and bearing capacity with different slope, pile length, pile diameter, the changes of the bearing capacity of steep-slope area pile foundation and the deformation law of pile lateral soil are obtained.Combined with the theoretical analysis and simulation result, from the aspect of theoretical calculation, design and construction, this paper complements and improves the existing norms for the characteristics of bridge pile foundation steep sections.Thesis results provide a scientific basis for the steep-slope area of the bridge foundation design and construction technology. The project has a certain practical value and theoretical significance.
