One day,I standed at the top of my dormitory .I found that the water boxes at the top of buildings are all in a jumble, destorying the whole image of our scenic school.It was the reason that I regarded the roof garden as the title of my graduation thesis ,We all know that the industrial revolution give rise to the process of unbanization .On the one hand, it created a huge socity wealth .On the other hand ,a series of problems appeared on our socity,for example, the deterioration of ecological environment ,the small amount of afforestation ,the popularity of diease.The socity began to pay more attention to those intricate problems and people began to show more concern for the construction of ecological environment ,to discuss about how to change it,how to solve the contradictory between the limited land and the large population ,then people started to chang direction to the roof of buildings.The construction of roof garden must be a tendency.The thesis put forward the research about the meaning and purpose of roof garden,introducing the domestic and external researches.From the history and classification of roof garden .I analysed the excellent cases of roof garden, I know the development situations about contemporary roof garden in every country,and the rules in developed countries ,emphasizing the important degree within range of world .The design of roof garden in Nanjing mainly described in the restricted factors and the landscape factors .Through the on-the-spot investigation .I chose several successful cases of roof garden to analylize ,I also summarised the ideas and methods of design .I hope that I can offer the foundation to creat the special roof garden in Nanjing .The final goal is that more people know the contents and functions of roof garden ,then they can take part in the practise and design of roof garden.
