Firstly, the heat resistance of epoxy resin (E54),phenolic epoxy (F44) and their mixed composite binders in different proportions was investigated by heating solidifying experiments and thermo-gravimetric analysis. The tribological properties and load-carring capacity of different binder coatings were studied by tribological tests. The optimal compositions of adhesive lubricating coatings were determined by integrated analysis of heat resistance and tribological test results of the coatings. In addition, the effect of the filled hard particles of Al2O3 on the tribological properties of the coatings. The tribological performances under different temperatures were also measured. The wear mechanisms of the coatings were analyzed by optical microscope, SEM, energy spectrum analysis. The heat resistance of epoxy resin E54 can be increased by adding F44, i.e., the heat resistance of composite resin binder increases with the increase of F44 content. The composite lubricating coatings have good wear resistances and high load-carring capacities, and the best tribological properties and load-carring capacity of the coatings appear when the ratio of F44 to E54 is 3:2. The service temperature of the composite coatings was significantly improved by using the mixed resins, a good antifriction and self-lubricating performance can be maintained when the temperature reached at 300℃. There is only little influence on the antifriction performance of the coatings when the coatings were added by appropriate size and quantity of Al2O3 hard particles, while the wear resistance and load-carring capacity of the coatings can be improved. However, the hard particles of Al2O3 will be harmful to the coatings and the counterparts under higher temperatures. In the initial stage of dry friction, the asperities of the counterpart surface will contact with the surface resin of coating, which wrap thesolid lubricants, the antifriction of the coatings is poor. With the increase of the friction time and applied load, the coating asperities were deformed, damaged and peeled off from the coaing surface to form wear debris, which gradually form a layer of protect film covering on the lubricating coating surface and the transfer layer on the counter surface, resulting in the change of friction between counterpart and coating into the friction between the lubricating films, consequently, the coating shows a good antifriction and self-lubricating properties.
