There are double effect to ram-compaction piles foundation with composite bearing base, which are compacting the soil foundation and expanding the role of an area of pile tip. When the lower soil layers of construction site is the soft soil layers and the bottom part is better soil with a certain thickness, the ram-compaction piles foundation with composite bearing base has a higher application value. In recent years, it takes place of the traditional form of foundation and ground treatment in the middle and small-scale construction projects. Its bearing capacity is high and can be adjusted to the uneven settlement in a certain extent, so it showed a better cost-effective. Meanwhile, there are still some problems with the bearing mechanism, bearing capacity and settlement calculation method and quality test during the engineering application process. This article will do some depth study on this.Based on the analysis of the characteristics and development to ram-compaction piles foundation with composite bearing base, the bearing mechanism of ram-compaction piles foundation with composite bearing base is firstly studied. The main study work are the composite failure mode of pile, pile material selection and its scope of application, engineering properties, vertical compression load bearing mechanism, side friction impact analysis and impact analysis of pile tip resistance. Secondly, the bearing capacity and settlement calculation method of the ram-compaction piles foundation with composite bearing base are studied through the computing model, vertical bearing capacity calculation method, settlement calculation method and its main impact factors. Then the design and calculation method are deeply analysised. Thirdly, there is interval uncertainty with the calculation parameters values of the the ram-compaction piles foundation with composite bearing base. The reliability of its stability is analysis by using the interval theory and non-probabilistic reliability theory, which can reflect the effection of the bearing capacity and settlement. Fourly, the construction technology and quality monitoring methods are studied through the piling process, quality testing methods, testing methods of the bearing capacity and quality evaluation method. Finally, the theory proposed is applied to analysis the engineering example in the Changsha New Sport Residential District, which is built by Maohua Group Company in Hunan province. The results show that the study content is feasible and reliable. It has a strong guiding significance to the engineering practice.
