Wet-connected envelop angle iron reinforced column is widely used as a traditional reinforcement method. Now in the reinforcement field, this method is still widely spreading used for its convenient construction, cutler workload in spot, less changes of section dimension of the member, less increment of weight, remarkable enhancement of bearing capacity, prominent improvement of rigidity and ductility of the member section. So theoretical and experimental study on wet-connected envelop angle iron reinforced RC column is a scientific problem with practical use and academic value.As the maturity of nonlinear finite element method and the rapid development of computer technology, non-linear finite element method applied to scientific research as the supplement of experiments is feasible and necessary. So far, the study of wet-connected envelop angle iron reinforced column mainly use experiment and finite element analysis, but few reports and research have been found on using nonlinear finite method to solve the problem which considering the late loading to the structure . This thesis study these aspects using the general finite element software ABAQUS.This thesis described the stress-strain relationship of material, structure modeling and the method of analysis, and verified the finite element results; changed the factors eccentricity, section dimension of angle iron, batten spacing, initial loading, studied the basic principles of loading mechanism of strengthened RC column, discussed the ultimate bearing capacity and ductility under different stress levels, discussed the influence of compression performance of wet-connected envelop angle iron reinforced RC column under different factors which are evaluated by orthogonal analysis; by making lateral strain analysis, proposed the calculation of compressive strength of concrete and lateral loads of confined concrete under secondary load. By considering the effectively confined area and the ineffectively confined area in the column section, an analytical model to predict the ultimate compressive strength of RC column strengthened by wet-connected envelop angle iron under axial compression is developed.
