Dynamic Consolidation (DC) has become a generally accepted ground improvement technique for its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. Strengthening the foundation with DC can further enhance the strength and uniformity, reduce compression to eliminate uneven subsidence, improve physical and mechanical properties and engineering characteristics of soil with obvious results. However, due to the complexity of soil parameters, the mechanism of dynamic compaction in strengthening the foundation is still lagging behind the engineering practice, and the selection of design parameters of reinforcement and the detection of the reinforcement effect needs further research. Therefore, study on the application of dynamic consolidation in foundation reinforcement is of important theoretical and practical significance to improving the level of dynamic compaction in application.Firstly, in this thesis the dynamic consolidation and vibration wave compaction theory are deeply analyzed, and the mechanism of dynamic compaction in strengthening the foundation is thoroughly discussed in both macro and micro aspects. Then, the affection of the tamping number, tamping energy and interval of dynamic consolidation in reinforcement is systematically analyzed by the method of contrast tests.Secondly, the design process of dynamic compaction is analyzed, and the selection method of parameters is proposed considering current standards and project practice in our country. Finally, the methods of detecting the effects of dynamic consolidation are deeply analyzed. It shows that integrated detection system should be used in the testing of dynamic consolidation.By comparing the design, construction and effects detection of dynamic consolidation with the practical engineering project, the proposed method is proved to be reliable.
