As the automotive industry rapidly growth, it requires higher functions of the materials. To be the auto interior roof, the materials should be non-pollute, noise reduction, high specific strength, low processing cycle times and good mechanical performance per weight and per price and so on. This paper used glass fiber and modification-polypropylene fiber as raw materials to laminate GMT composite material with the nonwoven machine that glass fiber is reinforcement and modification-polypropylene is thermoplastic matrix. The sum total of research on the paper is the relationship between the GMT composite material's manufacture technology parameters and mechanical properties.According to the characteristic of the raw material, this paper analysises of the card process, webforming, needle-punching process and single-variable hot-pressing process on the influnce of product properties in the molding process of the GMT composite material,finally select YYSL-185carding machine,15×18×36×3R28-333Y.P.3.2 needle,15×28×36×3M24-222Y.P3.2 needle,YYZS-290 previous needle-punch machine and YYZS-280 primary needle-punch machine.First we did some single-variabler parameter experiments on the mixed materials, the sesult shows that the influence of mixing ratio on the material properties is significant, and the trend of material properties is that the mechanical properties first increase but then drop within a certain range,overall consideration this paper set that the ratio of glass fiber to modification-polypropylene fiber is 7:3. And second did single-variable parameter experiments of hot-pressing process,the result shows that the influences of the temperature, press and time of the hot pressing process on the material properties are significant and the mechanical properties first increase but then drop within a certain range.According to the experimental data by using orthogonal rotatable central composite design,and effects of these variables and their interactions on the material properties,.the optimal hot pressing was found at the temperature151.3℃, press 4.931Mpa and time 3.313min.In the optimal hot pressing condition the theoretical values of tensile strength is 54.38828Mpa and the bending strength is 32.03468Mpa,with the maximum predicted tensile strength mark as 54.08Mpa,and bending strength mark as 32.03468Mpa.Third through analysing of variance of the mechanical properties of materials,uniformity of mixing and the thickness of the material,the results prove that the GMT composite material product has stable quality, good effect of the mixing of raw materials, high mechanical performance,and can meet the needs of auto interior processing.
